Volunteers Needed for the Senior Meals Program
Nearly 20,000 seniors in South Jersey face difficult choices between eating and paying for heating or healthcare.
The Food Bank of South Jersey Senior Program provides nutritious supplemental food boxes for low-income seniors living in public housing.
These packages contain approximately a two-week supply of groceries based on seniors’ nutrition needs.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We will be putting together individual box lunches, to be shipped to other places. The Food Bank has full time employees who load the trays of lunches into the trucks and vans. Our volunteers will not be required to do any heavy lifting.

Some things to know before coming to volunteer:
- The warehouse is hot in the summer so dress accordingly in warehouse appropriate attire.
- Be sure to wear closed toe shoes.
- Parking is limited so carpooling is very much appreciated.
- All volunteers must be at least 13 years old to participate.
- Cell phones are not permitted in the warehouse areas. Text/Calls may be placed in the volunteer lounge.
