1031 exchanges and other financial management questions

Wednesday, May 02, 2018

The Brooklawn Diner
297 Crescent Blvd (at the Circle)
Brooklawn, NJ 08030

Topic: 1031 exchanges and other financial management questions

  • What is a DST and how does it benefit real estate investors??

A Delaware Statutory Trust, or DST, is a separate legal entity created as a trust under Delaware statutory law, which permits a very flexible approach to the design and operation of the entity. Investors in a DST own a pro rata interest in the trust and have the right to receive distributions from the operation of the trust, either from rental income, or from the eventual sale of the assets.

At this meeting we will discuss:

  • Securitized 1031 Exchanges
  • Using DST’s for replacement property needs
  • Using DSTs as a backup plan for a personal 1031 Exchange
  • Upgrading personal RE with DSTs
  • Important topics to consider when selecting a QI
  • Investing taxable boot with DSTs
