CANDIDATE FOR TREASURER
(Current Treasurer) Donna Topham

I have been an active SJREIA member for over 18 years and have volunteered in numerous capacities through the years. I am currently the Treasurer and Business Affiliate Coordinator. I have been the hands on in most SJREIA events including the annual EXPO and community events projects and behind the scenes planning on all club matters.

Prior to Real Estate was in Banking for 27 years.  My RE experience is mostly in rehabbing appx 20 properties mostly in Camden and Burlington counties. I also own and manage a few rentals and have done several wholesale deals.  I attend as many webinars and meetings as time permits to continue to learn, share knowledge and network for opportunities.

I credit SJREIA, volunteer subgroup leaders, several business affiliates and various experiences members among us for providing quality information that has gotten me to this point in my real estate career. I try to pay it forward with our current members as time permits.

CANDIDATES FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS (vote for 3)

Candidate Natalie Schanne
(Current Director)

Natalie Schanne, Board of Directors 21-22, is applying for the Board of Directors. Natalie is addicted to real estate with over 13 years of hands-on experience. She is a rental property investor, Airbnb Superhost, rehabber, and real estate agent licensed in NJ, PA, VA. Natalie volunteers as an ambassador to promote SJREIA on BiggerPockets, Facebook and in the Mercer County / Princeton area to local investors and contractors.

Candidate George Russo

  • I've been a member since 2017
  • I attend most live main meetings
  • I have been actively volunteering when called upon by board members (check in assistance at main meetings and Expo)
  • I'm an active Landlord and fix &flip investor
  • I would like to be a SJREIA board member to offer my time and expertise to the REIA members. I currently get called by "newbies" and volunteer time with them to help those with questions on RE investing.
  • I believe I could be a benefit to the SJREIA Executives in helping with upcoming activities. I have a strong belief in what the SJREIA and National REIA offer and persistently recruiting those towards our REIA who wish to be RE investors. You may recognize me from meetings and front desk registration helper to Maria and of course our wonderful Christmas parties.

Candidate Rhonda Lake

Rhonda Lake, a wife, mother, grandmother and a legacy serial entrepreneur who has a passion for empowering women to step into their destiny, navigating their lives with power and purpose.  I’ve known for some time that my calling is in the space of real estate.  When I was 20 years old my first job was at a Title Company where I managed the Closing Desk and escrow accounts.  I then obtained my New York Real Estate license, joining my mother in selling and renting residential properties.  Fast-forwarding some years later I made my way to the financial sector, ensuring compliance with Freddie and Fannie guidelines, selling mortgages to the secondary market.

As my career continues to evolve, I keep close ties with the real estate industry by engaging in various podcasts, workshops and social media outlets. The one avenue that is my best source of information and major influence has been through my SJREIA membership.  Everyone is so friendly, open and willing to provide assistance, sharing their knowledge or connecting me with subject matter experts.  In the realm of leadership I am currently the Meetup Leader and Organizer for the South Jersey chapter of The InvestHer Real Estate group.  In this position, I help inspire women to take hold of their dreams to become financially independent through real estate investing.  Often, I cross pollinate the two groups, strongly suggesting the InvestHer population in the SJ area become members of SJREIA.

My future aspirations under the real estate umbrella are to continue growing my portfolio beyond the Philadelphia region, building teams and partnerships along the way for both myself and others.  As I move along my financial independence journey, I want to inspire the youth to take the ride with me, exposing them to financial literacy and the power real estate investing can give them.  I sing these praises to my own college-aged children, one of which I brought with me to SJREIA’s Expo, before she returned to school at New York University this August.

In addition to my love of real estate, I am a volunteer advocate.  I currently volunteer at my church as a Camera Operator.  In my past recent years I held various leadership roles at Toastermasters International, a national public speaking program.  I was also a Youth Dance Coordinator and a member of the Praise Dance Ministry for many years at a former church.

As a SJREIA board member, I hope to continue being an influencer of change, inspiring others to make a difference in their lives and the world around them.

Sincerely,
Elections Committee
